Specification Technologist

Direct Response Employment Services are recruiting for a Specification Technologist to join our  established client in Frome on a permanent basis.

As a Specification Technologist you will  be joining a family owed business who are financially strong and offer their employees a great working environment.

About the role: 

• Complete product specifications, external and internal, using customer portals where required
• Compile any additional information to be attached to specifications, risk assessment, nutrition, micro, packaging, etc
• Artwork checks
• Attend project meetings to then liaise with the rest of the department
• Supplier approval of new and existing raw material
• Upkeep of supplier raw material database, risk assessments, VACCP TACCP
• Member of the VACCP /TACCP team
• Complete and manage the export documentation

The Ideal Candidate: 

• Must have previous experience of writing specifications.
• Have had previous experience working within a food manufacturing or food service environment and have sound working knowledge of Food Law including, allergen management and legal labelling requirements for different types of food and drink products.
• Understand the supplier approval process, specifications and have managed supplier databases. Supplier approval knowledge would be preferred.
• Retailer specification knowledge is desirable.

• Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30am – 17:30pm
• Salary between £30,000 – £35,000 DOE
