Supply chain & Operations Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced supply chain and operations manager required for a market leading food manufacturer, based in Frome, Somerset.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of supply chain and operations management within a manufacturing setting, food production experience being beneficial. Candidates will have robust supply chain process knowledge and be willing to work in a multi-functional role which covers various skill areas of the business.

Reporting to the Factory Manager and having 3 main direct reports (buyer/purchasing manager, stores and cold stores managers), your main responsibility will be to oversee all functions ensuring the smooth running of departments. Supply chain wise, you will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing of ingredients and packaging, overseeing the monthly stock taking- working directly with the stores managers, managing and negotiating on a variety of contracts- utilities, stores, transport and more. Operationally, you will have responsibility for smaller functions such as site security & cleaning.

The person:
Supply chain management/operations management experience
Food manufacturing or high volume manufacturing experience (dairy a bonus)
Willing to work in a multi-functional role

Supply chain management- managing suppliers, contracts and negotiation
Direct reports of Buyer/Purchasing Manager, Stores and Cold stores manager
Reporting to Factory Manager

 

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:30

Salary: Up to £50,000.00 per year DOE
