Our client, a well known food manufacturer is looking for experienced operatives to work in their busy factory. These positions are temp to perm.
The purpose of the job is to operate and monitor the dairy equipment as per the company's standard operating procedures to achieve internal and external specifications.
Key Responsibilities whilst under supervision and training include:
Inputting data into the computer via software systems and ensuring accurate recordings. Being responsible for cleaning in place, open plant cleaning of dairy as per company's standard operating procedures. Working steadily and methodically to turn company's goods as per the operating procedures. Bagging and vacuum sealing goods and checking for contaminants prior to boxing and packing.
Once fully trained you will be expected to work unsupervised and perform tasks such as:
CIP set operation, process tanker deliveries and dispatches, operate the pasteuriser, operate the forklift as and when required, perform all critical control point checks as and when required, Operation of dairy control panel and any other tasks as and when required.
The right candidate must be physically fit, have a willingness to learn, be flexible and can work various hours. You must also be computer literate and have basic literacy and numeracy. Previous manufacturing experience would be desirable.
A valid counter-balance forklift licence would be desirable but not essential. If you own a valid food hygiene and manufacturing level 2 certificate this would be advantageous however training for this can be provided.
Working hours are variable depending on which department you will work in. Candidates will be expected to follow a shift pattern and rotate on a weekly basis. The basic shift pattern is:
05:30-14:00, 07:00-15:30, 08:00-16:30 (this may vary)
Salary - £8.70 per hour but will increase to £9.64 per hour once fully trained. There is also a £73.63 weekly shift allowance for those operating on rotating shifts.
Transport will be required due to the location of work.
